Claim here for FREE Cavity Wall Insulation

Reduce the cost of heating your home with FREE Cavity Wall Insulation (CWI) – it is a very simple process, the wall is simply filled with a thick insulation mixture. This keeps your house warmer and you spend less on heating it.

Cavity Wall Insulation Grant

Approximately a half of the money you spend to heat your home is being lost through an empty cavity wall – this is the greatest single loss and costs you more than any other leakage of heat in your home.

Funding is available for properties with empty cavity walls, and also to top-up walls where the cavity has been partially filled before.

Free Loft and Cavity Insulation offers FREE cavity wall insulation across England, Scotland and Wales for properties that have a brick cavity wall.

What is a Cavity Wall?

You can quickly check if you have a cavity wall from the brick bonds on this image.

Note: To qualify as a cavity, each brick must be laid length on. If you can see a mixture or length and end bricks then this is a solid wall and not eligible for cavity wall funding.

Do I qualify?

As a guide, houses built before 1930 are often solid wall and would not be eligible for cavity wall insulation but can claim a range of other free insulation. Many houses built between 1982 and 2000 were built with uninsulated cavities. If your property was built after 1995 then it might have been partially insulated and you are probably eligible for a cavity top-up.

You need to receive an ECO3 benefit and have an empty or partially filled brick cavity wall. Funding for partial fill can be low and this would not be completely free to everyone. Click here to see eligible ECO3 benefits.

The property should be located in England, Scotland or Wales and be heated by Mains gas, oil, LPG, electric boiler or electric storage heaters (ESH).

You must be the Homeowner, Landlord or a Private Tenant. Private Tenants must have their Landlord permission. Landlords must have an eligible ECO3 Tenant living in the property that requires insulation.

Also, Housing Associations can claim insulation grants if they have an EPC of the property that is E, F or G. HA's do not qualify through the conventional HHCRO benefits but via the EPC rating. If you are a Housing Association tenant and are seeking CWI then you should gain a letter in writing from your Housing Association manager that they are willing for you to proceed with the insulation.

If your property has already had cavity wall insulation over 15 years ago, and is heated by electric then we can extract this old material and fill it again with the latest energy saving insulation.

Note: You must have 67% or more of the cavity walls available to be insulated. Unfortunately, we cannot just insulate a new extension of the property under this funding.

You may also be eligible for a FREE A-rated replacement boiler if you are the homeowner living in your property and have an older gas, oil or LPG boiler.
